HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WOMAN?
After all, who said you can’t look sexy when you’re being hunted by stormtroopers? There’s always a fan in the vacuum and inside every space station to give that special movement to one’s hair. (Like you didn’t know that!)

Star Wars: Hunted #1 - Page 010
Hey guys,
Here's page 10. I'm not really happy with the result, but this is an experimental project - which means we will learn from our mistakes (hopefully! He, he, he...)

"I have a bad feeling about this..."
Hey all...
I never thought I'd have to use the most famous Star Wars line - "I have a bad feeling about this" - on this blog. I finished the pencils and was ready to ink page 10 when I thought: "Hey, why not go for a more rough-sketchy look?". With that in mind, I started to use colored pencils to finish this piece, without inking it. If in your vocabulary "rough-sketchy" means "total crap", you can say that's how page 10 looks like! Something's gone terribly wrong and I've gone way to far to come back and start the process all over again, so now I've been busy trying to save what I can from this catastrophe! Sorry for the delay and please don't be too mean when page 10 comes up: being mean leads to the DARK SIDE!!!

Anatomy of a sketch... and some random thoughts!
Mornin' all!
Just a sketch of an upcoming page! I'll try to finish it soon, but I don't know where I'm going with it. Possibly black and white... though the possibilities of light effects and colors are also very appealing.

Oh, and "thank you very much", Alex, for getting me addicted on the new Star Wars cartoon. I'll get my revenge soon, just wait! *grunf*
I really liked this new series, even though it's come to my attention that some fans criticized it for being too naïve or youngish. Well, I don’t know what the creative minds behind those episodes wanted, but it seems to me that this animation was indeed thought for a younger audience than the regular Star-Wars-fan-age-group (heck, it’s being aired on Cartoon Network!). Okay, I admit it: the “Roger-Roger” robots are retarded and that was probably unnecessary. But all prejudices aside, I think that by watching “Clone Wars” with an open – and younger – mind, one can see that it’s a pretty good work. The stories are very well told and that it’s art is of very high quality in all it’s aspects: sound-effects, soundtrack, environment, clothes, colors, voice talents etc. If in doubt, check out the episode "Lair of Grievous" to see a nice reinterpretation (or maybe an unconscious inspiration) of HR Giger's work.

Source: Getty ImagesAnd let’s not forget my favorite character Snips… er… Ahsoka! She is very expressive (body and facial language) and her creators came up with a very well-knit personality that could very easily be over the top if done by amateur hands. I just love her and hope she somehow manages to escape during the Clone Wars, I’d hate to know she was murdered… And it's also nice to see other good characters such as Grievous and Ventress being explored (I was very disappointed when Darth Maul died on Episode I. He almost didn't appear in the movie. Big waste of concept!!).
Now one question: robots? Do they or don’t they have feelings or personalities? I’ve been going over and over this with Alex and he says “no” while I strongly believe that they do! Just watch the movies and you’ll see I’m right. Plus: on this new Clone Wars animation Anakin “has” to save R2D2 because he’s “a friend”. A clonetrooper warns a fellow soldier not to call robots by their nicknames, because they’re not fond of it (the robot reprimanded them when they did it, of course). I’m a defender of robotic rights, specially because I – who have a strong tendency for nonsense humor – would love to draw a Jedi R2 unit. *lol*
Who’s right? Alex? Me? You decide!!

Next stop: Glee Anselm!
Hello friends!
I woke up early this morning with my hand scratching for Niil's painting. So here's the product of one morning's labour. The quote is Master Yoda's and I've kept the same "Force-energy" background. I kind of like to see the wet brush strokes in contrast with the solid thick ink lines...

I've also come up with a new uniform for Niil, which leaves him almost bare-chested. That brought up a few questions: "Do Nautolans have nipples? Do they have navels?" I called Alex, desperate for the answer, and we found out that since Nautolans are amphibians, hatched from eggs - no, they wouldn't have nipples, nor navels. Funny thing is, we saw the picture of a female Nautolan with a... hum... with a considerable.... rack! Fellows, I understand that are aesthetic matters at stake, but we should try to keep some level of consistency, right? *lol*
I'm also glad I was able to do a swimmer's body for Niil. I've been drawing him way too bulky and muscular, and neither he nor Tash are that way. They are strong and defined - after all, they are Jedi - but nothing like the Incredible Hulk.
Hope you enjoy it!

And the Force keeps flowing...
Hey Folks!
I had so much fun painting that Elora piece I did one of Tash. I'm pretty happy with the result and, of course, I'll just have to make one of our Nautolan friend Niil. After all, it's not fair if gets to be the only one without a painting. The quote on this piece is Yoda's, by the way!
May the Force be with you!
